Tackle football
Contact our Chapter Athletic Director, Candace Jauregui, for general information and the latest on practice windows, jamborees, and any conference changes.
Upcoming dates (2026 season)
Please save these items on your family calendar. If SCJAAF posts a final adjustment, we will share it through the board email list and the Information page.
- July 27, 2026: First day of practice, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at James Woody Park
For conference certification, every athlete, football and cheer, must complete ten hours of conditioning, also called grass time. This rule is firm. If your athlete misses time during the first week, the hours roll into the next week. We track all grass time. Spirit pack dress applies: football wears shorts and the grey shirt we issue, cheer wears shorts and a tank. Football players need cleats. Cheer athletes need running or cross training shoes. Use the maps below to see our practice zone layout at the park.

- August 25, 2026: Weight certification at Paloma Valley High School (arrive in the window your team posts)
- September 2, 2026: Pep rally at 7:30 p.m. on our practice field
- September 5, 2026: First game of the season (exact opponent and time follow SCJAAF release)
Hog raffle fundraiser
- All money is due August 15, 2026
- Each athlete must sell one book
- Two winners will be selected
- Each winner receives a new freezer filled with half a hog, butchered and wrapped for your family
- Drawing is September 2, 2026, during the pep rally
- Top selling cheer athlete and top selling football athlete each win a custom limited letterman jacket
What the season looks like for families
We run a full summer into fall block that moves from heat acclimation and form work into pads and stunts, then into league play. You should expect a steady email rhythm from the board, plus printed updates at major milestones. Parents help with chain gang, table shifts at fundraisers, and sideline support. We also ask you to read coach notes on hitting progression, practice attendance, and hydration, especially in August.
Cheer and football share the same start window so siblings can carpool. We post any lightning or air quality call on our Facebook page as soon as the call is made. If you are new, start with the Information tab for costs, required forms, and the volunteer pledge. We keep insurance and code of conduct links current there so you are not hunting through old threads.
First time with the program? The Parent Handbook lists a two-week order of operations with links to the same pages the board uses for news and forms.
